New Scholars 2019

Ruwwad accepted 24 new youth scholars at the end of August to start their enrichment, education and volunteering journey.

Ruwwad youth scholars’ learning journey includes weekly dialogue and discussion sessions (dardashat) , wellness sessions which focus on empathetic listening and training in programmatic methodologies so they can participate mindfully in driving our programs as community servants and volunteers.

Technology for Food Project

The Technology for Food Project, conducted in partnership with the American University of Beirut, under the overall management of the World Food Program, provided vulnerable populations of women and youth with training in digital skills and English language. This project aimed to improve the employability of these groups, providing them with the skills needed to succeed in the modern digital knowledge-based economyRegional partners implemented Technology for Food Project not just in Tripoli but in various locations throughout Lebanon.

This capacity building and local empowerment project is funded by the German development organization, Forum ZFD, and is implemented by Ruwwad Lebanon in partnership with March Lebanon, SHiFT Social Innovation Hub, We Love Tripoli and the Lebanese Democratic Women's Gathering (RDFL). The project aims  to support Lebanese civil society to establish inclusive structures for conflict transformation, community development and relationship building through the process of community mobilizing.

Aamaly Project

In partnership with Mercy Corps, and with the financial support of the Canadian Government, Ruwwad is involved in the implementation of the Aamaly project. The project focuses on improving livelihood opportunities for women and youth. Ruwwad has been selected to implement vocational training for 35 individuals taking part in the Executive Assistant training track, targeting men and women between 15 to35 years old.
