New Scholars 2019
Ruwwad welcomed 70 new youth scholars at the end of August 2019 to start their enrichment, education and volunteering journey.
Ruwwad youth scholars’ learning journey includes weekly dialogue and discussion sessions (dardashat) , wellness sessions which focus on empathetic listening and training on programmatic methodologies so they can participate mindfully in driving our programs as community servants and volunteers.
Ruwwad Youth Graduation
Ninety-five youth scholars celebrated their graduation after completing their enrichment, education and volunteering journey at Ruwwad. Ruwwad's enrichment program focuses on dialogue, wellness and business skills to enhance critical thinking, open-mindedness and respect for diversity and pluralism.
Computer Lab Workshops
Throughout 2019, Ruwwad Ezbet Khairallah conducted seven computer lab workshops. These workshops incorporated 370 hours of computer skills training, benefiting 127 youth who learned the skills of computer literacy, internet and Microsoft Office.
Explorers Learning Unit
Ruwwad children in the age group of 9-12 participated in the Explorers Learning Unit in January 2019 and acquired new knowledge and skills in the areas of self-exploration and identification of personal goals.
This unit was part of a collaboration with “Our Children” initiative within the “Khotwa” program where youth get training on how to plan and implement their work with children using the inquiry-based learning methodology.
"Adef Schools” Project
Ruwwad Egypt and Adef Institute signed a five–year partnership agreement to support implementation of the “Adef Schools” Project. The initial phase of the project was implemented in July through September 2019 to enhance students’ capabilities in the areas of filmmaking, sound and music, digital thinking skills and visual expression.
More Ruwwadis
Thirty-five new youth scholars joined Ruwwad in March 2019, where they will benefit from scholarships, enrichment programs and contribute their time and effort so the children of Ezbet Khairallah can have better opportunities.
Me and My Book
The winter camp in Ezbet Khairallah for the year 2019 carried the theme “Me and My Book”. With a focus on children’s literature and creative arts, the winter camp reached out to 205 of the Ezbeh children.
Literacy Program – Fifth Batch
Using REFLECT as a literacy methodology, the new series of classes enrolled 60 new men and women. Fourteen of Ruwwad youth scholars will be delivering the classes, covering five chapters according to the REFLECT methodology.
New Batch in Ruwwad Egypt
Thirty-four new youth scholars were accepted for the second cycle of the year 2018 to start their enrichment, education and volunteering journey at Ruwwad Ezbet Khairallah.
